Sun downloads--After download is complete and the file is in a directory you want the program to reside in, uncompress the file (e.g. type "uncompress sagan.ver1.2.tar.Z") and then untar the uncompressed file (e.g. type "tar xvf sagan.ver1.2.tar"). You will then have an installer and a README help file to complete the installation.
Mac downloads--After download, ftp the file as "raw data" to the Sun and follow the same procedures as above.
PC downloads--The file is NOT a zip file so do not try to unzip during download, simply save it as a file. Then ftp the file to the sun and follow procedures above.
