Science operator: University of Rhode Island-University of Milano
Logging operator: Schlumberger Italy
Hole: Cismon (APTICORE Program)
Location: Monte Grappa State Road 50 (km 53), Veneto, Italy
Latitude: 46° 2' 43.46" N
Longitude: 11° 45' 46.85" E
Logging dates: January 17-18, 1996
Elevation (ground level): 398 m
Total penetration: 131.8 m
Lithologies: limestones.
The logging data were acquired by Schlumberger Italy in February 1996. The data were originally available on 9-track magnetic tapes and were subsequently transferred to 4 mm-DAT tapes at LDEO-BRG and included in the LDEO-BRG archive.
The data were reviewed for quality control and formatted for upload onto the LogDB database at the Borehole Research Group of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in April 2021.

The Cismon well was drilled in limestones of Cretaceous age in 1996, as part of the APTICORE program. The hole reached a total depth of 131.8 m from an elevation of 398 m above sea level. Four strings of Schlumberger tools were sucessfully deployed in the order listed in the table above. Thanks to the excellent hole conditions, no problems were encountered during logging.
The quality of the data was assessed by checking against reasonable values for the logged lithologies, by repeatability between different passes of the same tool, and by correspondence between logs affected by the same formation property (for example, the resistivity log should show similar features to the sonic velocity log). The data of the Cismon well are of excellent quality. No depth matching between runs was required.
The SDT (Sonic Digital Array Tool) was run in Depth-Derived Borehole-Compensated mode, with a 3'-5'-5'-7' spacing. The compressiobal slowenesses (DT and DTL) were converted into velocities.
A wide and/or irregular borehole affects most recordings, particularly those that require eccentralization and a good contact with the borehole wall (LDS, APS). Hole diameter was recorded by the hydraulic caliper on the LDS tool (CALI) and the FMI tool (C1, C2). Hole conditions were excellent.
A Null value of -999.25 may replace invalid log values.
