Sea floor depth (logger's): 614.4 m WRF

Total penetration: 1179.4 m DRF (561 m DSF)

Total core recovered: 227.2 m (44.8 % of cored section)

SEISMIC TOOL USED: VSI (Versatile Seismic Imager)

The logging data was recorded by Schlumberger in LDF/DLIS format. 187  shots were acquired and provided reliable stacks at 21 stations. All processing, including first arrival picking and stacking, as well as traces deconvolution and corridor stacks, was performed by Schlumberger during Expedition 400 (see the processing report). The data was then converted into SEGY format at LDEO/BRG, using code developed in house.

Stacks were generally calculated with at least five good traces.

All the data in the SEGY files are sorted shot by shot (i.e. chronologically).

Additional information about the drilling and logging operations can be found in the Operations and Downhole Measurements sections of the expedition report, Proceedings of the International Ocean Discovery Program, Expedition 400. For further questions about the logs, if the hole is still under moratorium please contact the staff scientist of the expedition.
